Thanks to the vast amount of toxins in our environment and the ever increasing number of deadly diseases in the world, people are more concerned about their health now than they were 40 years ago. Obesity is considered a major risk factor for many health problems that can be caused. Cholesterol is one of such problems that are caused by obesity. It’s important to know more about cholesterol, how to maintain a healthy cholesterol level in the body, and how to prevent dangerous levels in order to be healthy.

Normally when people hear the word cholesterol they assume it must mean something bad. The reason all of us think that way is because the only time anyone ever mentions it, is when there is a serious health concern because of “cholesterol”. However, cholesterol can be both good and bad.

There are two types of cholesterol in our body. LDL or low density lipoprotein and HDL or high density lipoprotein. LDL is known as the “bad” form of cholesterol. When too much of LDL circulates in our blood it gradually builds up on the inner walls of the arteries that provide the blood to the heart and the brain. This kind of cholesterol can have serious health repercussions. LDL combines with other substances and forms plaque in the body. Plaque is a hard deposit that clogs these arteries and causes the artery walls to get thick. This condition is known as atherosclerosis.

HDL or high density lipoprotein is considered being the good form of cholesterol. A high level of HDL protects people against heart attacks. HDL in fact helps in slowing the buildup of plaque in the body. A low level of HDL increases the risk of having a heart attack since the risk of arterial plaque rises significantly.

Triglyceride is a type of fat produced inside our body through the food we eat. Increased level of triglyceride can be due to cigarette smoking, living a sedentary lifestyle or having a diet full of carbohydrates. People with high levels of triglyceride usually have high cholesterol level i.e. a high level of LDL cholesterol and a low level of HDL cholesterol.

It is important for all of us to get our cholesterol levels checked to maintain healthy and well. This can help us evaluate how healthy we are and what health measures can be taken to avoid diseases and health problems. High cholesterol level is linked with numerous problems such as diabetes, heart diseases, high Blood Pressure or even having a heart attack or a stroke. It is imperative to see if we have a healthy level of cholesterol in our body i.e. a low level of LDL cholesterol and a high level of HDL cholesterol.

Cholesterol level can change rapidly in a short amount of time which is why having regular checkups of these levels is important.

Obesity is considered one of the causes of a high cholesterol level. Fats in our diet cause cholesterol deposits to block the blood vessels. This restricts the blood flow in the body and causes many diseases mainly high Blood Pressure.

Ionized alkaline water helps lower the elevated level of cholesterol and Blood Pressure. Alkaline water rids the body of harmful free radicals and increased acidity. It is also known to have superior hydrating qualities. Alkaline water prevents excess cholesterol deposits and plaque to block the blood vessels with concentrated blood by keeping the cells hydrated. High Blood Pressure can be lowered within 60 to 90 days of using alkaline water. Calcium ions in the alkaline water help dissolve cholesterol and plaque in the arteries.
